Sunrider: Liberation is Turn Based Strategy Game/Visual Novel released by Love in Space and is the second game in the main Sunrider story. "LD" contains the second arc of the story, Sunrider: Liberation Day. It continues the journey of Captain Kayto Shields as he leads his crew of colorful Ryder pilots from across the galaxy on a one-ship mission of revenge to liberate his home planet of Cera from the clutches of the sinister People's Alliance for Common Treatment, unraveling an even deeper mystery as he goes...

The game was first released on Steam on March 4th, 2016. It was later released on GoG.com on May 22, 2018.

"Captain's Edition"

Liberation Day was widely panned by fans upon its initial release, citing extensive railroading of the story, a lack of choices, and an unsatisfying ending. In response, Love in Space released two major patches after release. Follow the release of the second patch, "Captain's Edition" was tacked onto the name and made the standard on storefronts.

Version 2.0 fleshed out the ending after the completion of the last mission. Adding approximately 20-30 minutes of story and dialogue as well as adding several new choices, all of which are recorded in the end of game save file.

3.0

Main article: Return

Version 3.0 added [Re]turn, a purely Visual Novel game which sends Kayto back in time to prevent the events of the main game, and adds numerous choices, endings based off those choices, as well as new scenery and imagery.
